I'm keen to do more wild camping. I was wondering if there is a way of people listing coordinates of places they have stayed with a description or even a couple of photos so we could all benefit.

Anyone else interested or would like to add?

I guess if they have a Sat Nav they could get the co-ordinates from that and just enter them into Sat Nav Database used for POI's. Theres one for overnight stays on the club download section so it could be extended for wild camping if someone is prepared to collect the data and enter it.

Sorry, I forgot to thank you. Last weekend we went to Corfe Castle and stayed on the Burnbake campsite you recommended. There must have been aleast another 5 or 6 T25's and a couple of Bays. The site was fantastic really laid back, a proper campsite rather than the normal over commercialised. We went to Studland, the beach was fantastic and with the scorching weather it was like being abroad. Pity it is not possible to wild camp there.

Anyway thanks for the tips and anymore beauties like that would be much appreciated. Oh and I like your new van.

Do you mean on the beach or just near Studland bay in general? You used to be able to park up along the road from the ferry or have they stopped that? Was looking forward to a quick overnighter there some time soon.

Along the road near the ferry. There are loads of signs sayin no overnight sleeping, no cooking etc. On the wild camping site people has said they have been given parking tickets at 6am. Shame

Oh Man!! that's just not fair!!! For years we've been going down to Studland and I've always fancied an overnighter there ... Killjoys!

I support Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue.

The whole of the Purbecks is sewn up tight camping wise. Even the licensed sites get really heavily fined if they allow camping on their sites outside of their permit dates.

There are loads of forestry commission car parks around - but all have prominent no overnight camping signs.

Have seen many people camping overnight in the roadside car park outside the church in West Lulworth - but it's hardly what you would call Wild Camping!

Tom's Field is a nice site http://www.tomsfieldcamping.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, but not wild. Probably the best campsite if you like rock climbing - Dancing Ledge is very close. The walks here are fabulous.

You might be able to book one of the campsites at Goathorn Farm http://www.scoutcampingindorset.com/index.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - but it usually only takes groups such as Scouts / Guides etc. As members of Club 80-90, it might be worth a try. They are great campsites.

Ta That site is really good isnt it? we just stumbled across it and when we went people were having fires and there seemed to be no problems with that. There are wild camping spots around their, If you head to the oil depot there are some woods and some tracks leading into them that i guess you shouldnt really go down but we have

Hi,

I believe you can camp in the car park at Hardy's Monument near Dortchester . This summer the owner of the car park has been meeting people as they drive in and telling them that the car park is free but that there is a donation box there if you want to contribute to keeping it open. He also told me that he allows overnight parking for about £5. The Car Park gets locked over night . The views there are excellent looking over towards Portland Bill and Chesil Beach. Its also very close to the lime kiln shown in Jed's Dorset weekend youtube video.

I haven't had chance to try it myself yet as I am new to owning a Camper.
