Due to not doing a very good job on changing the dipstick over to the long T25 one on previous engine conversions, i gave up trying.

However, for this weekends engine change, i would like to fit it to make the thing look like a proper job.

I take the old dipstick out and fit the T25 one but it wobbles around?

Do i just need the washer and rubber gromet off brickwerks?

Tips much appreciated...

I don't want to hi-jack your thread, but I'd be very interested in the answer too.
First of all however - how do you get the AAZ one out? I couldn't get mine to shift.

Well - that's what I thought. Tried for some time but didn't budge - not at all.
Should have tried harder I guess - or heated it maybe!
Anyway it can stay there now as I've just got my sump to stop leaking for first time ever.

thayt onna ittin eet ard enuff owduck!!!!!!....find a drift or round bar that fits up the dipstick hole snuggly then wollop eet!!....i had the same wobbly dipstick problem when i did my 1y and couldnt find the solution....so i used the original 1y dipstick tube,and shortened it till the stick touched sump bottom,then re-marked the stick after the first service with the correct amount of oil in.....its isnt ideal as we have to lift the lid to check it.....but ours doesnt loose any oil....

i used the old 1.6 dipstick and tube eventually on mine..i kept the 1y alt setup on and i had to make a small bracket to hold the tube in the same place as the 1.6 was(so its there behind the flap)

drift out the AAZ dipstick with a 10mm drift or old drill bit. Cut off the top off the old AAZ tube just above where it comes out of the block. Drill an 8mm hole through the center of the dipstick, then insert the JX dipstick into AAZ modified tube. This can be threadlocked, then insert the dipstick back into the block. Behind the filler flap with number plate fitted normally there is a 8mm hole that can be used to fit the other end of the tube. Fill new oil filter and engine ensuring no more than 4.5ltrs. Run for a couple of minutes and turn off. Remove dipstick inner stick and remark the min and max mark.

I just found out i havent got the plastic part of the dipstick tube - so im going to leave it until i can get a replacement (god knows where).

I drifted the AAZ one out so hopefully it will come out without drifting it out next time (but i doubt it).
