are the drive shafts specific to year or is it a case of one size fits all?

so a drive shaft from a later T25 will fit an early one?
just so i'm clear
as long its not from a auto, for my manual

T25/T3 CV joints are the same as later T2's as well, T2 driveshafts are shorter though. I had a crash course in CV joints and drive shafts 50 miles after buying our van a couple of weeks back.
