heater pods

Is it feasible to do away with the expensive heater pods and risers (cost £150) and connect the heat exch. directly to the y connector to the cab. I know i would have no heat control but from what i hear anyway its not to overwelming even in summer!

Yes it's perfectly feasible, I did exactly that at the start of the winter using some aluminium flexi-pipe. It does however chuck out loads of heat now and I'll either have to remove the pipe soon or splash out on some new heater pods. Contrary to belief a well sealed air cooled system does supply a lot of heat to the cabin.
