Is it getting fuel, did it just cut like an switch or was it a gradual loss of power then stop, if it was the latter then i'd be looking at fuel supply.

it was just gradual as in driving along next thing no power engine revs dropped till stand still then cut out
got it going again and went about half a mile and cut out again got it going again didn`t last 2 mins though
and that was it ended up on the back of recovery

If it starts (or has a jolly good go) if you tip a capful of fuel down the carb bore (remove air filter) then its fuel starvation. If it doesn't, its electrics. Not a hard and fast rule but usually saves fishing in the dark.

Did you have to wait 20mins or so before you could restart? Might be excess fuel - so you have to wait for it to evaporate out of the flooded carbs before it all works again. Either way I would get the carbeurettors checked. Look for a carb tuner on yell. If it is a carb prob one tip might be to put your foot to the floor before you turn the ignition and this might help her start after a conk out.
Otherwise electrical - dodgy alternator?
Does she conk out when you come to a standstill eg in a q or giveway? Or is it while your foot is on the acelerator?/

I had a duff one from halfrauds. All felt ok until you gave it a good wiggle then it would turn and come off. Its a long shot but all you have done is a good service and a MOT recently, other than that its a fuel/air problem. Breathers and fuel supply
