I bought a Bluebird cab bunk for my Westy from vanfest. I read the instructions several times even thought they are very simple. I drilled the holes in front pillars as per the instructions. When I stretched the canvasfor the rear holes in the B pillar it does't stretch far enough and only reaches the seam on the pillar.

Please help as I feel I have been sold something not fit for purpose and to make things worse I now have holes in the A pillar!

The only reason for it not to fit as instructed is if you have drilled the holes too low down each pillar....

PS, BTW, you did buy the latest version of the cab bunk that no loner needs the mounting brackets,,,,or you may have been supplied with the wrong fitting instructions,,, ,,,

it is the latest one without brackets. I drilled the holes 15mm below the lowest point of the grab handle as instructed.

I think the canvas needs to be about 100mm wider to fit and to give a little sag.

Mine is the old type with the brackets but it is a very tight fit until it has been used a few times.

thanks, I have spoken to Bluebird and they said to drill the holes just past the seam and into the pillar. Leave the canvas on a radiator for a while to make it more plyable. Insert the front pole and one end of the rear and stretch the other end into place. He was very confident it will fit, so I,ll give it ago tonight.
