will not idle and seems to run on 3 cylinders

I have a 1.9dg running on lpg.

It starts fine and drives well for 5 - 10 miles then all of a sudden it will not idle and seems to run on 3 cylinders.
I have fitted new Ignition coil, plugs, leads, rotor arm and dizzy cap but with no joy.
Please does any one have any ideas.
Thanks

Carbs! As far as I am concerned the root of all (my) problems!! Maybe trouble getting fuel to engine?

what s going on when it warms up then? the choke should be full open after that time, worth checking that the waxstat is working, if its not then it will run to rich when hot. you did not mention plugs, are they good.other than the waxstat i cannot think of anything else that would cause both lpg and petrol to have probs.

Dump the LPG! its trouble with a capital T

seriously, sounds like it could be a compression problem? Have you tested each pot?

A compression test has already been done

says 11 to 14 bar in the book with a max difference of three bar between them. dunno how that works out with the figures you have. check the waxstat and see if it is opening fully when the engine is hot then you can forget that bit.

Sounds electrical.. unplug and clean the connections to coil, ignition module etc.. worth cleaning the earth to the head (brown wire) also.. Presume it was doing this before the parts swap?

Surely if the a compression was down it would not run like a dream for a long period of time.
Today it started to do it ,so i turned it off , restarted and it was ok

Could be an air intake problem. When the engine has warmed up the air stream is redirected for cooler air. Check out the cold air intake venting could be blocked with leaves or something.

Have you checked the points gap? If the gap has started to close it could be the cause of the mis-fire?
