When you've stopped laughing, can you tell me where to look for the engine number? its got 1.9D stamped on the block, but I want the exact model... thanks guys...

The engine number is stamped on the engine block as you have said.
for a petrol engine as you have not said which one you have is..
I suspect there may be more letters if it's a VW engine

WBX 1.9 DG - on top of the engine near the distributor.
and for a diesel..
AAZ 1.9 Between and below injector numbers 3 and 4.
