Evening all

Anybody got a novel way of removing gears from Crankshaft without the benefit of having a tool.
Or anybody around the huddersfield area with one of these

Need to remove the gears etc to replace bearings

Thanks again for all your advice

Your local 'Hire shop' should tools to rent rather than buying one....

Try warming the shaft gently when using the puller ,as it will soften the oil residue holding the gear to the shaft...

It will be on quite tight.. tool works a treat.. could see if local machine shop has a press and can do it for a "drink".. you'll prob need to press it back on as well...

Always used puller to remove and heated the gear before putting it on... and gear slips right on. Have a short piece of pipe that fits over end of shaft handy to seat gear.
