Radiator bleed thread...

I guess I already know the answer, not really a question just a moan!!!

Still new to all of this, but thought I would get to grips with the cooling system as I needed to replace a hose and refill the system.

Spent the good part of today draining, replacing the hose and bleeding and refilling. Just about finished, ready for a test drive, one final bleed of radiator and grrrrr, radiator valve screw wouldn't tighten!!! Assuming the thread is stripped!! I assume I have no choice but to buy a new radiator? Is it simple to do for someone who's beginning to think he should stick to his day job (wiki description looks simple)!!!

Sharing the frustration!!!
