Andy, have you had any joy with your pictures mate? I was thinking of those shots of me and Russel coming out of the mud hole at the bottom of that wooded section in particular...

Great shots and two different winches but which is the better winch? Does the smaller one pull well enough and is the bigger one too powerfull?

Warn winches are not so nice to use in a radical way like 4x4 competitions, the only of that brand what can survive to these efforts is the Warn M8274... The rest of Warns usually gets hot as a Jx engine with no water in the radiator and climbing a hill!

It certainly looks a powerful (and heavy?) beast
- the one on the Suzuki that pulled the DoDoka out that sticky bog last year was a 9,000 lber he said - that didn't look
too big. Impressed me, requiring two of us on firm ground + the Suzuki to hold it back.

They are actualy bothe warn's and of the same size. Andrews is a 9000i with the solenoid pack over the top of it and mine is an old 9000 with the solenoid pack under the drivers seat.Mine looks smaler due to no solenoid pack and the fact that a lot of the winch is tucked under(behind)the grill.This elusion is also enhanced due to the front of my van being 4.5cm shorter and 7.5cm higher on the bumper than standard.
They are definetly not the top of the range but very sufficient for a T3.Not ever going to use a T3 in a winch chalenge it would be pointles in spending more on a winch than is required.
