Starting question......

If I keep the van to 60/65 and under, turning the engine off then restarting is not a problem. But.... driving at 70/75 then trying that is a different matter.
It happened again yesterday when I stopped for LPG on the A14. Seems like I have to leave engine cool down a bit then it'll restart after 10/15 mins????
Why is this and what can I do to remedy (don't say drive slower!!!

)
Cheers for any help

Does your start on lpg ? or is it the petrol then lpg ?
If you run it souly on petrol and then try restarting it ,does it do it then ?

Hi Tigs

... when you say it 'won't start' do you mean it turns over fine but won't fire or that it won't turn over ?

Sorry Ian yes it turns over but just wont fire. Is the fuel evaporating too quickly cos the engine's hot do you think?

I know very little about the injection model but that would certainly make sense to me. Although you'd imagine that there'd be something to prevent it.
Ian.

it does sound like a timing issue or a vacuum problem which may only show itself when the engine is slightly hotter , is it due a service
also check the rotor arm and cap , could be time for new ones

Was serviced before I trekked up to Scotland end of June. Will check rotor arm and cap

could be the leads breaking down , ask hulley which golf ones fit

, simple cheapish repair if it is them , just do one at a time ,then you won't get mixed up as to which one goes where
