Radiator fan not working?

Hi
Just got back from a months euro tour in my T25 done 3000 miles engine diden't miss a beat, haven't had it long so was a bit concerned she would make it OK it was an awesome trip done 6 countries saw some amazing sights, can't wait to go again!
Took some spares & joined ADAC but diden't need any of them.
The only problem we did have was that whilst queing for the St Gottard tunnel which is around 17k long she started overheating pulled over just before we enterd the tunnel and noticed water coming from under the engine, was a bit worried to say the least but it was only coming from the resivoir bottle so we let the engine cool down checked everthing, topped her up and off we went got a bit warm around venice as the weather was really hot around 45! but other than that she made it fine & done us proud.
I realised that the reason for this was the fan is not cutting in, I know some of you might think I'm a pratt but as I'm new to T25's and not that mechanicly minded I thought while she was running ok to leave well alone. Not sure weather it could be thermostat, electrical or the fan is just buggered.
Is there a fuse for the fan in the glove box as one of the fuses is missing? is there any common faults and what should I check to find the problem?
She an 84 model with a 1.9 engine.
Cheers
