Does anyone use anything like a steering wheel lock/gear stick lock, anything like that? Just wondering what might fit and what's any good....

It's not a good idea to discuss security in open forum ... perhaps best to devise your own 'unique' methods of guarding your beloved bus :ok

Broad terms would be ok - just not specifics. Putting alarms to one side, consider existing wires that extend into engine bay and consider ways to disable some from a more discreet location. Just remember, not much can stop a recovery truck from removing your beloved, but making is difficult to start has to be a good approach. Nuff said.

I went out to a car that had a very expensive one of those rod ones, they had lost the keys took me 30 seconds to get it off!!!!!!!!! Not gonna say how but it works everytime! Steering wheel off works really well, even if you hide it in the back really puts people off!

Certainly the best immobiliser if the vehicle has to be parked up for any length of time :rofl

Hi

On our 1989 T25, with a 450mm/18inch steering wheel, we use a 'BULLDOG BW800 Steering Wheel Lock'. Approx £55.00.
Because its sooo long it seems a pretty good deterant and would be hard to turn the wheel right round. We tested smaller sized locks and they didnt stick out enough past the outer edge of the steering wheel.

Heres the site we got it from:
http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk/products/b ... -lock.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

NOTE:
"INSIDE" diameter of the steering wheel rim, Min 360mm - Max 440mm approx.
NOT OUTSIDE DIA. OF WHEEL.

When we used to leave vans in remote locations for several days while we went climbing we put a heavy chain round the spokes and rim of the steering wheel then padlocked the two ends to one of the pedals. Never lost a van.
