Hi,

Similar to the topic about south west france, I thought I would pick your brains for interesting places to camp and see in north west france (brittany/normandy). Me and the other half are going on the 26th of Sept for a week, and back on the 2nd. Obviously only being a week we dont want to go too far. Ferry is to Calais at 10am on the sat.

Had rough ideas such as going to saint mont micheal, then maybe to bayeux and south to Quimper. Open to suggestions on camping spots and other places to see. Electric hook up would be good for the missus!

Cheers

Is a friendly campsite near Honfleur which is a Northern version of St.Tropez, complete with expensive harbour-side cafes and bars ...shop at the Champion in town though and it's cheap enough.

There is a camping site at Mont Saint Michael which we used this summer. It is on the mainland just before you take the causeway for the Mont. The toilet block was nice and clean and the site was quiet. There are a number of restaurants there specialising in sea-foods. I had some reasonably priced huitres. The abbey at the top is free for anyone under the age of 25.

We stayed in the car park at Mont Saint Michael... no services. Watched beautiful sunset and lights island.. tides were nice too, but bugs can be a bugger so have some repellent and use it if needed. The farther right of the causeway you get, the better the view.

This site is a favourite of ours. http://www.caravancampingsites.co.uk/fr ... selune.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Located In Pontaubault near Avranches and not far from Mont St Michel. Owned by a engish chap. Very clean and tidy site with good facilities. We use it as a stopover when on long journey further down.

:ok

If you want details let me know

You'll have a great time got to try the fruit de mer in st malo
