syncro gearing options?

Hi syncro owners.

Have recently bought a gearbox and diff to replace the non-difflock boxes in my 14" syncro. Thing I'm trying to decide is how to go about getting my gearing taller as the new gearbox has a ratio of 6.166. I can only fit 235/75/r15s on with 14" trailing arms which means my gearing will still be rather low for the highway. 16" trailing arms cost around 1400AUD from burley motor sports plus shipping, customs duty, gst so more like $2000+. Basically I'm looking at other options that may be more cost effective and would much appreciate some input as to where I can find out more about having a taller 4th gear installed for highway cruising? Who supplies them and what is involved in doing a swap labor, costs? thanks

Hi There, Have a look on Adian Talbots web site 'www.aidantalbot.co.uk' (he is a member here and very good with syncro gearboxs) there you will find all the information you need. The long third and forth gears Aidan uses come from Oz so you should have no trouble obtaining them.

Tim.
