Want to get the prop shaft re furbed. vibe between 40-50 getting worse and prop shaft ring always been there. Local man says about £250 so seems easier to take or send it to gkn in brum. Anyone done it and would it be cheaper btw the local man says trouble getting the eight bolt rubber doughnut! Maybe easier to get gkn replacement? I believe someone has done that?

If I remember right Aidan had one made for a wee bit more than a refurb. I took mine down to a local guy and got him to replace the universal joints. Didn't get it balanced and was ok.

I had a replacement build by Chards in Bristol that did away with the donut and replaced it with a sliding spline joint; they called it a 'cush' drive as it was rubber sleeved internally to provide a degree of cushioning. Solved all the vibe/ringing problems but it was over £300 from memory.
