Need engine id number to get correct injector pipe

Hi I have a 1.6TD 1989, and the fuel injector pipe, number 4 has cracked, I need a new one but the garage can't get the right one since they don't have the engine number. Where can I find the engine engine number, the very freindly mechanic looked lots and lots but couldn't find it on the rocker or where else he looked, the engine has been replaced with another 1.6td jx at some point in the past so chassis doesn't link to engine. Where is the engine id number hiding, where is it on your vans?

For diesels - Between and below injector numbers 3 and 4.

as far as im aware there is only one 1.6 jx engine out there.so why they need the engine number is a bit of a mystery.
