Can someone recommend a good fridge (12v/240v) that I can fit behind the passenger seat. Bear in mind I have a Multivan and not a fully fitted camper

Try the Waeco A40 2 Way Fridge – 12v / 240v has carry handles making it easily portable and the controls have a cover to stop damage... will need some form of release/fixing to stop it moving around in transit!

Having a purely electric fridge will limit you to camping on sites with an electric supply. Do you have an electric hookup?

Waeco have just launched the new 12V CF18 Compressor fridge using their compressor rather than the Danford thus bringing the price down to around £220-00. I have used the CF18 for over 8 years and would never ever revert to the Absorption 3 way type, absolutely no comparison in terms of performance. The consumption of the CF18 is 36W with a duty cycle of 10% (simply put it only switches on 10% of the time it is on). I have used mine for several days off the leisure battery without any problems and it freezes in temperatures that a 3 way fridge would struggle to cope with. No problems with condensation rotting the floors and no need to cut holes in the bodywork. If you can afford around £500 then get the new Engel compressor fridge which consumes a measly 1.5A and designed to run off leisure batteries/240V a.c. It can be left on permanently with the aid of a suitable solar panel and the choice for most marinecraft installations.

Thanks for the advice guys. I don't have hookup as yet but as I don't want to cut holes anywhere it will be a lead hanging out the window!!
