Common sense says repalce them but vw nor gsf no longer do them ?

now do i

1)use the old ones again

2)get some bolts of the same size and tensile strength from b and q or somewhere

..

What Engine -1.9DG- Use them again , not a problem

Run a die nut down them.

Failing having a die nut it'll do no harm replacing them, although
I'd doubt very much that B&Q would have them, you'd be better
off trying Screwfix or RS Components for the same size & tensile strength
screws or a good car parts place that'll give you some experience on
tensile strength of bolts that are interchangeable from other cars.

see on golfs they are only m8 and stretch bolts but im not so sure the m12 allen on the wedges are stretch

you should replace them although it seems they are specific to the T25 engine (petrol) which means they are hard to find.
i got a set from heritige but that was about 7 years ago! at the time it was there last set , i ordered 2 lots but only got one , and after a 3 month wait they canceled the order.
you can try vw and anywhere that may sell them but i doubt you will get some but please let us know if you do!

i have used old ones again only because you cant find new , this has never caused a problem as long as you tighten them correctly with locktight as original. also only use bolts that look ok and not damaged in any way.
