Rotor Arm

1982 Aircooled 2ltr, CU engine.

The rotor arm on my van is the rev. limiting type (guess its 5400rpm cut out), what are the advantages/disadvantages of replacing this with the standard none rev. limiting type?

Put the cheaper regular one on & don't rev the "Balls" out of it :wink:

I think they had the limited ones for drivers who didn't own the van

the restricted one was put in to ensure you couldnt over rev the engine. Its instead of using an electrical system.

like whats been said you can replace it just go careful on the revs.
