I'm looking forward to going off to France next week, but not really looking forward so much to driving on the wrong side. Especially as some tit has gone and smashed my passenger side mirror... this will now become the mirror I need to use the most! I should really replace it but dunno if I'll have the time to find a replacement now. Anyone know how hot the French police are on this? I've heard they fine you on the spot for not having spare bulbs, etc... The mirror still just about does the job, its just that its in about 5 pieces, so the view's a bit cubist-looking. I was thinking of swapping the glass with the good one from the other side... That might even help me to remember what side to drive on! Anyone know if and how to remove the mirror glass? (standard mirrors)

If it were me I'd rather spend a tenner on a cheepo mirror than risk having to argue it out with the French Police.
