Rotor Arm query

Hi,
Having consulted with Just Kampers to make sure I ordered the right bits for my 1989 2.1DJ engined syncro caravelle I finally ordered some bits (airfilter, HT leads, sparkplugs, rotor arm, dizzy cap). However, the rotor arm does not fit. I have emailed them to ask whether there was an alternative part, whether they have sent the wrong one, whether I have ordered the wrong one or whether, if it doesn't fit, my bus is not to original spec? I have had no response from them so far so thought I'd try asking the question here.

The new rotor arm I have received has a much smaller diameter socket than the shaft of the distributor, but the box it arrived in has the right part number for the one listed as being for my bus JK part number J10728. Any ideas?? :ok

Looks like tey have sent one for a MV engine code, which uses a 10 mm shaft.

and the number of times they have done it defies belief, they should know better, it's not rocket science, that's part of why I don't use them, still as an MV driver it suits me as someone gave me three brand new wrong uns :ok

gave them a call and they have been fine about sorting it. Website is wrong since it state the part I've received states

Fits Vehicles
Type 25
Petrol, 1985 - 1992, 1900 cc, 2100 cc

Type 4
Petrol, 1990 - 2003, 2000 cc

but it turns out I need
Fits Vehicles
Type 25
Petrol, 1983 - 1991, 1900 cc

Beetles
Petrol, 1968 - 1998, 1200 cc, 1300 cc, 1500 cc, 1600 cc

they weren't aware that there was a difference between two different 2.1 engines!

Just curiosity, but how come a 2.1 DJ has a dizzy anyway?? Thought they were all 'clever' computery stuff.... :?

not quite that clever mate. Our vans were before individual coils for each plug were used.
