Fridge not working

My 3 way fridge ain't working. I'm almost certain it was OK about 3 months ago on 240v at least. I only want 240v, (I haven't tested the gas or 12v). Anyway, it has been stood/moved carefuly over last few months. I have had it connected to mains for 2 hours but no change in temp! I assume this is long enough to at least get some change in temp. What usually goes wrong, and are they expensive to fix? I realise this is a bit of an "unknown quantity" but just some ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

There are two heating elements, one for 12V the other for 240V. If its connected to the mains and your sure that the EHU is OK, the fridge switched to 240V operation, the mains plug fuse OK, and RCD switched on then chances are the 240V element has gone open circuit or the thermostat control is faulty or you may have disturbed the 240V wiring whilst moving it. Check all the obvious suspects first and if all OK then you will need to measure the resistance of the element with a multi meter. I have a spare one for sale but they are availlable anyway around £20 me thinks. Pipework at rear should get hot if you can get to it that is..........if its cold then something wrong!

Thanks for that (sigh of relief) :ok . I like the size of this fridge and I have fitted unit to suit so getting another would not really be an option, unless same size etc. I can get to back and top of it so I'll see if it gets hot. I'll be in touch!
BTW, checked EHU and all sockets etc work. I also wired it into a plug, just in case.
Thanks again :ok
