I would like to have a rubber backed mat made for my van, anyone know who does this. Maybe like those rubber backed anti-static mats you see in some office receptions. I have a table leg base on the floor so someone who could make to my supplied dimensions / sketch. Standard carpets just end up frayed after a while. Cheers all!

Are you familiar with whipping
If you have an offcut of a suitable carpet (nylon or propylene tight twist or cord, big berber loop cords prob not suitable), then most decent carpet shops or warehouses will get it whipped at the edges for you. They charge per foot, so watchit, find a tame carpet fitter and he'll know the cheapest place.
Cut to shape and size beforehand through the back with Stanley knife/straight edge, and if you want, spend a happy 20 minutes sealing the edges with latex (copydex).
Don't choose a naural fibre (wool/jute/hessian Axminster of Wilton) unless its stays dry or is dried out quickly.. you'll regret it.
Those anti-static office mats are not particularly cheap and come in std sizes usually. Coir 'Wearwell' entrance mats might be suitable. They have coir fibres bonded (vertically, not woven) into a thick semi-flexible plastic back, and can be ordered off 1m or 2m rolls, and can be from about 12mm to 20mm thick. They are rough to the skin but will take the muck off you boots and will never rot. Go thin and shave the edge down to avoid tripping hazard

PS. Oh, if you get a coir wearwell entrance carpet that's dyed, ask that it is definitely dye proof, I've seen them all very pretty in the warehouse, and ot so after a horde of kids has coem in on a rainy... that gets on your other carpets not nice... so ask, or choose the natural (brownish bristle coir) ones... never wear out unless in a heavy office, shop or school entrance matwell.
