canterbury camping

thinking of heading up to canterbury area for a short break, may be a week or so.

never been to this area before so if there`s any locals willing to give us some tips as to where to visit and camp we ( me, mandy, 2 kids, 5 and 9 and the westy syncro ) would be very greatfull.

Lots of campsites in area.
Yewtree Park -yewtreepark.com
Camping and Caravanning site at Bekesbourne CT3 4AB 01227 463216.
Canterbury has motor caravan friendly park and ride (Old Dover Road)
Cathederal, Chaucer themed "Canterbury Tales", carriage rides, river rides, shops, McDonalds etc.
Howletts wild aninmal park, Port Lymne animal park, Wildwoods woodland discovery park. Dover castle - just had a makeover with new exhibitions etc. Explore the tunnels under Dover Castle.
Oysters at Whitstable. Traditional seaside at Margate and Broadstairs.

Try the local tourist informatioon offes in Canterbury and Dover.
Can't say what campsites are like as we live locally!
