Self opening sliding door

As I set off for a long weekend to Pickering (North Yorks) the sliding door opened on its own, it has never done this before, so I shut it again and locked it, but it did it again and has continually done it every time I drive it (luckly I have an additional lock inside for security) I have had a look but can't see anything wrong. Has anyone had a similar problem and found a cure ????

ours "unclicks" but doesn't fully open , figger its the forward catch but not yet got time for adjustment , does yours actually slide open ?
What i did was watch /look afterwards to see which catch was affected .
should be easy to sort -- so of course i havent bovvered yet .

tis a common fault probably started by loose door lock. Rear catch held in with big phillips screws, they spread when bashed against locking pin. Try removing it from vehicle (which means lifting rear roller out of channel to swing door rear out from vehicle a few inches, rest bottom on axle stand and then try squeezing whole lock assy top and bottom to reduce the jaw size then refit, use some locktite on the screws and do well tight.
If this doesn't work then you need a new latch, nla from vw.
