great week

Just back from a great week in Barra. Weather was a bit mixed until Tuesday evening when a good old storm blew up. Had to rescue our neighbours awning (nearest and only neighbour about 200 yards away) from blowing away.
After that the rest of the week was glorious. Left on the late ferry friday night when another storm blew up Captain said it was a force 8/9 which made for a rough crossing. Men, Women, children and dogs throwing up everywhere, it nearly put me off my steak pie.
Managed to visit the abandoned isle of Mingulay. The remnants of the village, school and church can still be seen. Lots of sea birds and passed a basking shark about 2m from boat.
