different sump plug

my sump plug isn't the type shown in the haynes manual or the wiki.

you need to use an alan key to undo/tighten it.

plus the sump plug seal i bought from JK doesn't fit it. I've had to re-fit the existing one. it's about 20mm wide and the space in the middle is about 18.5mm.

any ideas why mine is different and where can i get that sized seal from???

*1985 - 1.9 petrol engine

don't know what engine you have but the sump plug threads on my 1.9dg were stripped and I re tapped the hole and now has a sump plug from a peugeot car in it. This is a common fault. Any car parts shop should have a box of seals to suit all types.

Any good motor accessories shop should have copper or fibre washers in stock, even Halfords haver them .....

But you will have to be sure of what you are asking for, best bet is take the old one with you to match it up.
