Firstly are they glued on?

Secondly, if not, how the hell do they come off?

There's nowt wrong with them, just need to temporarily remove them....

Thirdly, in case of disaster, are they available or obsolete?

I'm not sure about the sliding door seal, but I am sure as hell about the door seal and the gutter trim,,,,,,,,,firstly the door rubber is held with double sided or 12mm re-fix tape as it is known in the trade. A small sharp implement will help with any removal as will a heat gun aimed at the area to be treated ( if only to warm the glue behind the seal)......The trouble is the chances of a door seal being shagged and re usable once removed is pretty poor...... :o

The gutter trim is held on with some sort of mastic type adhesive , plus with the amount of time the trim has been baked in the sun it will be very brittle and won't come off in one piece.
Any good quality de greaser will help remove the excess of the mastic, then to re fit the trim you may have to use any good quality adhesive sealer ( Tigerseal or similar ) rather than a silicone sealer.....

:ok Cheers Fritz. That settles it then. The door seals can stay on 'cos they don't leak and I'm buggered if I'm gonna shag'em taking them off. The gutter trim has to be removed though - think a heat gun will help get them off in a reasonable state? Can't see them being available although I will contact VW.............

Wouldn't that be a bit too 'curvey'?

If the existing one breaks I'll investigate....... :D
