I've been used a bog bucket so far this year but it was only £15 and it's getting a bit jaded AND it's very tippy for my littlie so am considering investing in something a bit more fit for purpose!

I saw a camping khazi for £25 in my local camping store t'other day (cheaper online) and was wondering if anyone had one or could recommend something else of similar price.

I have a swivel buddy seat in the back so not got heaps of storage and am aware every time we go away the van seems more and more packed!

Morning, you have 2 options ... a miniscule one that fits under your buddy seat ( I believe Kathyshack was on about these a few weeks ago) OR the biggest one you can get ya paws on ... with the idea that you can camp for longer without having to turn it round (not everyone's 'cup of tea' )

We have the larger option ... bearing in mind there's 4 of us ... and we can wild camp for 3-4 days before emptying the bog and filling the watertank.

Bought a pretty cheap Campng Gaz branded one from Yeomans in town. About £25 and I can't really think why others are so much more expensive - not much to them really; flush reservoir & beer recycling tank.
I does what we need it to do and fits in the tunnel bit of the awning by the back wheel once we're parked up - perfect for early morning & late night emergencies

We had one of them at first .... it split along a seam I believe it may still reside at the side of a lay-by in Belgium

Maybe that's why some are more expensive than others then. Still, no leaks as yet from ours thankfully, perhaps I have a less corrosive diet

personally i think they're an essential bit of kit esp when you have little ones! They're nice and steady and the one i got is a perfect height for summer to get on and off easily on her own. (see above thread for linky) I think the fiamma bipot one we had before was a better loo, better fitting and stuff, but it was a tad too high to go under the new buddy seat. The one i have now is fine, but you have to be sure you have put it together correct so it doesn't leak a bit. Not a problem once you know what your doing. Also despite it being small, it easily does for us for a weekend away or longer if just used in emergencies.

Definitely Porta Potty on mine.
My daughters are not keen on it but at my age, in the middle of the night, I have difficulty negotiating french camp sites in the dark with their various H&S hazards.
I can generally hang on for a poo but at Glastonbury this year I rebelled on the Monday morning. All the site toilets were backed up in E10 and I was not prepared to leg it for a clean on. An oxymoron, I suspect.
Sitting in relative comfort compared to "pooh" yourself looking for a loo is not a contest as far as I am concerned.

The buddy seat is effectively a solid base (with a little teen tiny storage space that is big enough for my socket set!) so not an option to tuck it away under there.

Hence wondering where the heck to put it when travelling! Once the bedding and clothes are packed behind the seat and the awning is on the floor in front of the bench and the cool box is between THE buddy and THE cooker there don't leave much space!

Quite like the look of that one on the link but it's £42.99 now plus postage etc.

The khazi isn't nearly so sophisticated tho - it's a 5ltr bucket suspended under the seat is all..........

Oh and it's a bog or a potti or a loo or WHATEVER you wanna call it! I don't care! Call the toilet police have me arrested!

We have the smaller Thetford one which we only use in the night for the kids or if we are desperate! We try to use the site facilities otherwise unless your wild campig of course then a bigger one may be the better option.

seems perfect for those in case of need times, plus it fits perfectly in the small cupboard where the camping gaz cylinder is housed in our Autohomes camper, another plus is there is no liquids sloshing around .

Mind you we have not used it yet, so i will report back as and when

I like that and I like that it fits in the cupboard as I too have an autohomes.

What I don't like is the price of the liner bags! £8 for four bags is pretty steep.

Can you tell me what the inside is like? Could you just dispense with the bag and drop a bit of chemical in the bottom then empty regularly?
