Disc backing plate - EDITED...

Hi all.

Im in the process of ordering new brakes, drums, discs, pads etc, front and back and when taking a look at the front brakes I noticed the Disc backing plate totally rusted and falling apart, a total mess.

Do I need the front brake back plates or can they be removed and not replaced?
Does anyone know if these reproduction back plates would be suitable for a 1982 2.0l Aircooled? :?

Cheers

Mat

All Brickwerks stuff is very high quality - you're best bet is to just give them a ring, or drop Simon an email and they will tell you what you need
Who knows, Mr Baxter himself may well be along to answer this himself

Seriously give him a bell or an email and he WILL tell you what you need

The early ones are pressed and not easily re-made.
There are some aftermarket ones out there, made by Klokerholm, but they aren't the best.
You don't really need them either, not legally.
I do the later style ones as they are easily done as they are flat.

Thanks Simon, I'll just remove them for now me thinks, if they are not a legal requirment.
