T25 2L Aircooled - carburettor problems
Posted: 22 Jul 2009, 22:03
My T25 is losing power and smells as though it's running rich. When it's hot it won't tick over. Took off the engine cover to find a few things I don't understand.
There are wires on the By-pass cut off valve and the Fuel cut-off valve (linked) but no wire on the terminal on the Idling enrichment unit.
The connectors which should go to the idle stablizing unit are joined together.
The crankcase breather isn't connected to the pipe on the side of the air cleaner housing but goes over the engine and out through the bulkhead of the engine compartment.
The two small temperature regulator tubes that come side-by-side out of the aircleaner housing lid are joined together by a short piece of pipe.
and finally - there are two outlets from the vacuum unit on the distributor. There is a pipe from one of them to the right side carburettor. The other outlet has a short sealed-off piece of pipe on it.
Does anyone know if any, or all, of these things might be contributing to the problem please????? Quietly desperate...
