Hi, i would appreciate any advice available on a new problem with my 1981 2.0 litre Aircooled van,
The threads in the block are shot on number 2 spark plug, the plug wont stay in position and is jumping out under any revs.
Has anyone encountered this problem?

Requires a Helicoil in the cylinder head.

Thanks for all who have offered advice on this matter, is there anyone who could confirm which size die I need to use and which size helicoil? please,
The article offered mentions M14 as being the size of the spark plug, and M16 being the size of the die used to make bigger hole to recieve helicoil.
Apologies if this question sounds lame, however, my van is in pieces and i want to get him back on the road asap.

The kit will be too expensive for you to buy, given the fragile nature of taps I doubt anyone will loan/hire the kit, the common option would be to take your cylinder head to your local engineering workshop and let them do it for you.
