level sensor... leaking

i seem to be getting a small amount of leaking from the coolant level sensor.. the coolant gathers in the indentation there, and sometimes drips down onto the road. i dont seem to be losing a significant amount of coolant.
also, the leak apears to be through the sensor itself, rather than ill fitting threads, as this seems to be a good seal
is this indicative of to high a pressure in the coolant system, or something much less sinister...
cheers

It's a symptom of either a cracked header tank, a cracked sensor or a leaking seal .... replace the relevant part with a quality replacement NOT JK carp.
Ian.

brilliant, so not indicative of a problem waiting to happen...
might just replace all those parts to be sure... i just love spending money on fixing the van, rather than buying my girlfriend presents, going out for dinner or any of that boring stuff!!
i assume brickwerks have all that stuff... i'll take a look
how can i change the header tank without losing all my coolant??!

Park it with the ass-end up in the air, it'll save the vast majority of it and should self bleed.
Ian.

As Ian says, ass in the air, ( I mean get the vans ass in the air, not that Ian said it with his ass in the air

)
Then simple stick a bucket or washing up bowl under the header tank, it will only dump less than a gallon of coolant out when taking the header tank off.
Personally I would bleed it as per the usual manner (see wiki if unsure) afterwards.
