Have been thinking about a Fiamma Caravanstore awning.

Are they quick & easy to erect & put away? I'm after something for roadside stops / occassional overnighter when don't fancy putting full awning up.

Yep, spot on. Many of us who tour and wild camp have them.

Spoke to a guy from Reimo at Camperjam who said that most of his customers regretted buying it as it was a fag to roll back requiring two people. He was steering me towards a cheap and cheerful sunshade or a full monty F35, although he agreed that the F35 was not worth the money. I ended up confused.

With practice you can put it away yourself ... but it's easier with 2 (plus it gives the kids something to do to help )

Hi after spending £10k on a new van this year i wanted a cheap awning so bought a sun shady from the Camper shop it only takes one person a few minutes to put up and it folds away into a small bag its a good alternative if you want somthing cheaper and seems to be of reasonable quality

I've got a Caravanstore - bought it on eBay.
Very quick and easy to put out and back with one person - can't imagine what the Reimo guy was trying to say.
Do peg out the feet if a bit windy though - I didn't the first night in the Dales, and have slightly bent poles as a result.

I think he was saying that to try and get a sale on one of there kits! You should peg the feet down every time you use it and use the guy ropes to hold it too!!! I think there brill wouldnt be without it now so easy to put up and take down on your own!!

Looking for a F45 as its a bit more solid and the leg base can be fitted on to the van bode that way you dont need to peg it down.

My caravanstore came with the attachments to fit the legs to the body of the van.
Didn't bother with them as the legs line up with the center of the wheels

Yeah, our's came with those too .... not very suitable with a sliding door

The caravan store ones come with um and as put before they dont work on t25's!

Have seen a f45 with them fitted one by the fuel filler and one just passed the sliding door when opened fully.
I was after this set up as we have 2 dogs that currently get the leads tangled around the poles on the sunshade i have.
I am also concerned that with the legs just pegged in to the ground if the wind gets under the canopy and flips it over it would damage to the van.
the carvanstore looks i bit flimsy as well with the material not supported underneath but just the poles on the end.

Be interested to hear your experiences.

Use the feet pegs and guylines and they're very rigid. Drop a leg down if rain is forecast and put it away if it's blowing a gale.
