ok - funds don't stretch to a brickwerks one at the min

Don't really want to put rad sealant in it (engine still under warrenty, so don't want to do anything that upsets that)
Went on e-bay got a working second hand one for £25. Know it could be false economy.....but needs must. Closer inspection of mine indicates a small leak for a period of time

as it is stained white along the bottom of it.
What I want to know......If I take plenty of water, and don't push it too hard, can I get it 95 miles to Tigs for the camperschool??? Give me sommat to do on the sunday.....(other than drink tea and play with Tigs' kittens....) Yep - got AA cover if it goes breasticles up. Will watch guages like a hawk - know how it usually behaves, so should notice anything out of the ordinary.
Is the radiator likely to suddenly go bang or owt? Can stop regualarly and bleed if necessary - will keep heater on to make sure got constant heat.
Am I completely mental (ok ok I know the answer to that) but it would be easier to do off road than by the side of the road
Question: will the thicker radiator that should be fitted for a 2.1 go in the space vacated by what is presumably a 1.9 in there at the moment? I have a 2.1 transplant from the 1.9, so would prefer the thicker radiator. Will the fan and fan housing be a direct swap, (spare rad is coming with fan), or will I have to change things about? Not an issue if I do...just would like to know before we get it half in and then find it doesn't fit!!

If it's only seeping and has been for a while it should be fine .... the pressures down due to the leak anyway so should't go bang. I'd be extremely carefull though.
Ian.

Thanks Ian - yep, careful will be the order of the day.
While you were replying, I edited my response to include a question - could you have a read - what do folks think - are the rads interchangeable?

I certainly hope so, I have the 2.1 rad on standby to go in when my 1.9 needs replacing.
Ian.
