temp gauge

Tried to get mine working today, checked all wiring seems ok, took out gauge all was ok. I then took the spade connectors that go on the two temp senders on the thermostat housing and connected them together and the gauge came to life. Does this mean the senders are dead, or could it be somthing else.

Sounds like a duff sender to me.

be carfull with GSF senders I have had one that reads wrong.

thanks for the quick replies I thought that it could only be the sensor, phoned vw they do not have any. Where is the best place to get some good ones from.

does simon sell the two pin earthed senders?
for plastic housing with the retaining clip?
I see he sells single pin.

changed the senders and guess what the needle still dosn't move this is doing my head in!!!!!
