SP6 Broken Diff Award

Hopefully about now a certain Andy Simpson will be receiving his award at Manchester TPS, I asked their delivery driver Steve to take it and get him a round of applause organised, doubtless Andy will be along later to let us know he got it safe and sound, and that we stitched him up !

Andy was the clear winner, basically for being there and taking his 2wd van (albeit a bit modified) where even some syncros didn't go, and not actually breaking it. I don't know if they had the intended rescue home as the van goes better on mud than it does on the road on those rear tyres :rofl

and one of those that nominated Andy made this comment

..."For getting everywhere we did in his 2wd; although he did have to ask a six year old for a beer;"

those that were there will recognise that scenario :rofl

Doug was second, mostly in recognition of all his work in getting there after multiple clutch failures emptying his bank account and frying his deductive powers and for bringing the esential kit and for all his work over the weekend that helped to make the event so enjoyable.

Sharon was third, for being the first clear round on the trial and showing the boys how it should be done on several occasions.

Honourable mention to Patrick for spending Saturday afternoon fixing his van after the front drive shaft came off due to someone previously having fitted it wrongly :ok

Further honourable mention to Andrew Scott for being the furthest travelled (from the S of Ireland) and risking his new paint job and then being totally philosophical after he'd dented the nearside rear arch; should be ok with a polish honest

And the funniest nomination was for Russel........
for having an orange van and a big machete
:rollin

Yes thanks got my award this afternoon.

Rear tyres were even worse on way home, the highest speed i did was 38mph even on the motorway and even stopped on the hard should cos i thought i was going to die.

All great award ceremonies need speeches, so without further ado ...

Ahem, I couldnt of possibly done this without the help of Dai and Clive to diagnose the (obvious  ) problem from the noises coming from my wheel, Dai for supplying the 6 new bolts and washers, Aidan for working out why it had been done wrongly in the first place, Roger for his toolbox, Andy for his bottle jack, various peeps for cups of tea and noises of encouragement while I slaved away.
Thank you all and I'm very pleased to get mentioned. :pimp

Just to add to that... Russel was consulted too, and looking between grease on the spacer rings, offered his opinion on what had perhaps transpired (apart from Patrick himself, hehe!) - so all round a marvellous joint effort :D

I'd like to that Paul JBiga fro helping me with removing refitting , my engine bash-plate, Sharon for driving over it expertly to straighten it, all in quite a downpour.
Aidan for a very nice bottle of 1849 Ale (tasted like it was brewed somewhat more recently than that!) that I enjoed when finally back at home Monday night. And for some diff-lock vac tube received promptly Tuesday morning, cheers.
