i've just bought a t3, and i'm a wimp, i'm thinking a spot power steering would be a good idea, after driving a modern car with power steering it came as a bit of an arm ache

i'm guessing propper t3 power racks are going to be expensive, has anyone out there modified a different rack to suit

Power steering set ups from the breakers generally are £350 plus. You need the pulley, the pump, reservoir and mounting plate, pipework, steering relay to rack shaft and UJ and the rack.

I recently split a set up as someone wanted the pump and somebody else wanted the rack and connecting shaft - he was going to use it in conjunction with a vauxhall electric ps pump, which I believe has been done by a few peeps.
I don't know of any alternative to the genuine rack, and rhd they are pretty rare and expensive, but they do come up occassionally.

Nah you'll get used to it after a bit. You've probably got used to winding the wheel around when your not moving like I had. The one thing I would say for no PAS, is at least you have some feeling of whats happening at the wheels.

Has it got the standard large steering wheel or a smaller one that someone has put on?
What tyres are you running on the front and most importantly what pressure are you using...?
Most busses etc need 38-43psi in the fronts.. with good quality"commercial" tyres...
But you can check to see if there is a label in the door jamb of one of the front doors for tyre pressures..

i guess i'll have to look at other racks to see if there might be something else that might do the job
appart from turning circle and lenght of rack, what other considerations should i need to look at
might have to look into an electric pum to power it all
