Hello,
Does anyone know if it is possible to turbo a 2.1DJ engine or does anyone know if it has been done (or even if it can be done!)
Thanks

good info here

This is the nicest I have seen. Better looking than a diesel any day, a turbo and intercooler fitted which is very pleasing to the eye will give a 50% increase in both power and torque.
The sweedish, and Finnish seem to know a good deal about them, one engine in a beetle producing 415bhp.

The VW South Africa approved turbo bus.

DJ is less than ideal as it has high compression ratio... so you can only go low pressure turbo and have to retard the ignition a lot..
MV better... but surprisingly the 1.9 actually responds really well to a turbo going on it...
Of course... several ways to do it, but I would be looking at a freshly rebuilt engine as a starting point, you can then use the MV pistons and even machine them a tad to get he CR down a bit more.. turbo kit... nothing off the shelf, but early saab turbo CIS injection can be made to work very well... or if you are really flush then a progamable ECU etc...
How deep are your pockets??? it will cost...

If you can afford to mess about turbo-ing a WBX motor, you can afford to buy megasquirt!

This is a bit more reasonable.
