It is a simple question with hopefully a simple answer. I have just purchased a set of Audi alloys that are 16 X 7j offset 42 5x112 pcd. I think that they should fit straight onto my van? can anybody tell me the largest tyre that I could fit that wont mean any mods?

Thats great, thanks for that but is there anybody out there with 16" wheels that can tell me what they have on and also if they have standard or lowered suspension. Come on guys you should be proud to tell people the size of yours!

I've got merc slk's with 205/55 16 0n the front and 225/50 16 on rear the rear being 8 inch wide fronts 7 also lowered 60mm alround and 10mm spacers on front with no clearance probs as of yet, dont forget you may need longer bolts at the front and studs at the rear hope this helps

ypu will need between a 10 and 15mm spacer on the fronts (upper joint clearence) and the centre bore will need taking out to between 60 to 63mm depending if you want to modd the front bearing caps
ie remove the lip round the cap and you can machine the centre bore of the wheels to 60mm and have good wheel location (way less chance of vibration at around 60mph)
what ever way you need to machine out the centre bore of the wheels if they are audi fitment (cente bore will be 57.1mm normaly)

hey, thought audi alloys needed the centres machining? I couldnt find a place that would do it for a resonable price so i went and bought some Merc SLK (2002) alloys from ebay for £46. Im pretty sure i need 10mm spaces on the front (as mentioned above), longer studs & bolts all round. Anyone know if theres any other modifications i need to make? By the looks of the wheels they are all 205 r15.
-- anyone used the spacers studs etc.. Brickworx is selling ?
Thanks
p.s. good luck getting those audi alloys sorted. // im just dreading replacing x4 mitchelin pilot tyres.. there gonna be a little pricey compaired to my current set (x4=120)

Thanks for the quick reply, although i'd love to go for a full chrome set i just dont have the funds. I'm gonna have to go for steel spacers (10mm = £12) and chrome bolts/studs. No drilling whatsoever requires or adjustments to the rear hubs?
Cheers

Not on merc allies with 75mm centers. make sure the bolts/nuts are radiused for the mercs...or your teeth will drop out with the vibration!
see my post for the centers well cheap!
