Routing wire into interior.

I've just fitted some nifty parking sensors, which work nicely with but one hitch - with the workings mounted in behind the right rear light cluster, I can't hear the beeps!

Does anyone know a nice easy way to route a wire from the engine bay area to the interior? Could save me half an hour on my back looking for a hole...

My sensors are mounted either side of the number plate close to each rear light cluster. The cable is fairly light so just tuck them behind the rubber draught excluder and follow it along and up towards the rear wardrobe then tuck out from behind the draught excluder into the rear of the van. If a piccy helps I can post one tomorrow but fairly straight forward once the draught excluder is removed and then carefully refitted with the cable in the channel.

Draught excluder? Do you mean the rubber thing around the tailgate?

I don't need to get them from the bumper to the interior - I need to get a wire for the buzzer from the right of the engine bay behind the lights to somewhere inside the cabin where I can hear it over the mighty roar of the 1.6.

NB. Being German, my wardrobe and all that are on the left.

Not sure what you have but mine has the ultrasound sender and detector on the rear and these connect to the main module (that also incorporates the warning sounder). The module is fitted slightly forward of the rear wardrobe and I can hear it fine in the cab. I am referring to the wiring from the ultra sound devices that have to connect to the module and it is these that run in the draught excluder channel. If you need to run wiring from from aft to front then you need to go under the van and loop up into the headlight cavity and use the existing cable entry into and behind the fuse box.

Ah, I see - mine has the buzzer in a seperate little box, attached by cable to the main unit - so I've installed the main box behind the light cluster and I just need to route the buzzer to somewhere. The headlight route sounds promising if the cable is long enough. If not maybe I can run it around behind the rubber seal of the engine compartment and up into the wardrobe from the other side.

should be ok, mind you having seen the special offer that Maplin have for a wireless reversing camera and colour screen for £59-00 wished I hadn't bothered fitting my kit!

Just extend the wire with some speaker cable and run it along the existing wiring loom under the van and in through to the dash behind the NS headlamp.
