engine oil question

hi whats the best engine oil to use in a 1990 transporter 1.9 petrol i've noticed its getting abit low and the best place to get it? any help/advice would be great?

GSF do Fuchs Titan Universal 15w/40 very acceptable
vw do quantum same grade
