Which clutch?

I've sadly just cooked my JX engine which means a) Iwon't drop by to say 'Hi' this weekend and b) I need to bring forward my AAZ conversion.

I'm going for a new clutch.
Given that I carry/pull quite heavy loads of firewood (often uphill) would I be better off with the 228mm clutch or will the 215 mm be OK?

Also I'll give driveshafts/cv joints etc a good grease while it's in bits.Any other jobs worth doing whilst the engine/gearbox are out?

If anybody fancies a cuppa on the way home after the weekend I'm about 8miles east of Llanfyllin- come and shake your head pityingly at my plight!! especially if you know a bit about the AAZ conversion.
Cheers.Al

Surely what diameter of flywheel you have will deternine the clutch diameter... but normally bigger is better... Sure Bricky Harrymann etc etc will be along shortly to advise....

228mm will last much longer than pathetic jx clutch

:D

But a good JX clutch seems to work for me (and I had 30 * 100 lb paving slabs on last week, so many the tyres looked flat at 36 psi!)

That's a 67% overload (0.8 ton I think is rated load), forgetting all the other crap on board

So she pulled up a steep hill at 3250 Kg, no problem, no indication of slip at all (had her jumping up and own in G gear all-locks at Shipston, front of a 5 vehicle tow-chain, no slip, just bounced up and down)

Ok, maybe I'm lucky with a 215mm clutch, but she's got more grunt than yours :)
