Had a quick go with the search on here and the brickyard and can't seem to find a post with the info I need, so...

Side windows on our converted panel van pi$$ water, all the curves don't sit flush and the previous owner has filled them with some sort of gunk in an attempt to stop them from leaking which hasn't worked...

Going to replace them with two brand new seals in an effort to solve the water pissing in problem, I can only assume that they will fit better than the ones on now which to be honest don't what I call fit, if you get what I mean.

Anyway I've never done this before and wondered if there are any tips or tricks or things I should look out for. Didn't want to get the window out to find I don't have the foggiest how to get it back in lol.

Any help appreciated.

I got Autoglass to fit mine

I paid a man to do mine cost me £30 for three. The string trick only works with caravelle windows according to the man.

Well I googled and tried the method of inserting the seal into the frame and then duck taping it there while me and 2 friends used a lacing tool and screwdriver to get the window seated. Took a while but with patience came great reward. Fits in perfect with no leaks, alot better than the bodged seals that the previous owner had installed. I recommend if u have some patience and a couple of spare bodies that you have a go yourself, saved me a few bob!
