Hi just after some advice really, some of you may have read my last post about my 2.0ltr air cooled automatic!! Well i have not managed to sort the box and i cant so far find a replacement auto gearbox......so........
I have been offered an manual gearbox and the bits needed off a scrap van, my questions are.......
1. does £350 sound like a fair price, bearing in mind i think he wants extra for the clutch and flywheel and i will have to remove the bits off the van myself bar the gearbox wich is out allready (i would rather remove myself so i have a better idea of where the said bits go on my van
2. what bits will i need, obviously the linkages pedal, gearstick, hydralic pipework, what about driveshafts, would they be the same size?
3. has anyone undertaken this mission before? are all the holes ect in the body/chassis there to fit all the manual stuff? how easy/hard is it? i am assuming i will have to remove the fuel tank?
any other advice comments, all appreciated.
thanks
jon
