Does anyone have AA relay cover on their t25 camper ?
Has to be under 3.5 tons and less than 18 ft long i am told ?
Does the t25 Komet high top watercooled comply ?

We were RAC'd back from Yorkshire to Chester yesterday as our waterpump seals went and deposited the coolant on the M62. I'm making myself feel better about it by saying it's a right of passage and that everyone with one of these will have to do it at some point.

We've got a Autohomes Karisma Hi-Top which should be similar to yours. Went home on the back of a truck, too big and heavy to tow I think. You'll be fine.

Anyone know if a new waterpump is a big job? I know JK do them for about £30. Might get the steel pipes replaced at the same time.

RAC from tesco with tesco vouchers is the cheapest way to get cover from what I know and we used ours yesterday too

I've had AA relay on my vans for years, and been relayed back to the Isle of Wight from the M5 in the doka, laden down with umpteen wheels and tyres, the Spragmans, camping stuff etc etc. The private firm that collected me from Portsmouth had a little more to say about the weight though!
The AA have been out to me often and never had a grumble, but I have been in a flat pop top or tin top.

why dont you get in touch with Steve Shaw at GASURE UK he has got a unit on Deeside Industrial Estate Zone 1 he will sort you out no problem

I've already spoken to him. Good bloke to have so close to us. He's busy this week but the bus isn't going anywhere so we can wait a week or so.

As a further comment the RAC are recovering the already recovered bus from our house in Chester to Steve at Gasure in Deeside which is pretty good I think.

He's even fitting the new water pump on Saturday morning.

As I say a good bloke to have nearby.

Hopefully we've not screwed the engine by getting it too hot!

Don't know about the AA but the RAC are good lads. A few years ago they towed my high top T25 AND my old racing MG Midget on a trailer the best part of 200 miles back home for me. Can't argue with that .

I wouldn't use the AA. Nasty incident with a heavily pregnant wife, luggage and dog abandoned in Preston on a Sunday with no funds and no idea where anything was and me 400 miles away in Scotland with no car. I'll give them friends if I ever meet anyone with any power in the AA.

The RAC have been great, just don't tell them it's a van unless you want to pay the £10 extra for comercials, its a camper, mpv or a Kar.

Doing the water pump is not a major job, I did mine with a little help, just a good socket set, spanners, a sawn off allen key and a bit of patience in wiggling the thing off.

I used to have my own truck and worked as an agent for the AA RAC Brittania Rescue and Green Flag.


The last two are the best in the business, forget RAC and AA and use one of the others. They employ local agents are are not a bunch of money grabbing jobsworths
