I have a 1990 autohomes komet with an electrolux fridge with electronic ignition. Went for our first night away on saturday. Tried to light the fridge on gas, got a spark and the pilot light came on. held the gas control knob in for about a minute but everytime i let go, the pilot light went out. Tried several times but no joy. There was defnitely gas there as we cooked ok and the bottle was full.

Can anyone give me an idea of why/ how to fix?

thanks!

er not perfectly level. but not way off either.

i was guessing thermocouple but i wanted to check other options before i take the fridge out.

Any ideas on where to get thermocouples from? i heard the official supplier have made them obsolete.

Most likely the thermocouple. Although I did tell someone that and it turned out to the the gas valve itself that was at fault.......a bit embarrassing

It is however a lot more likely to be the thermocouple though

FIXED!

Knob on the gas valve wasn't allowing it to push far enough in to latch.

Took knob off, cleaned gunk off shaft*, tried fridge without knob..... worked fine!

*No sniggering at the back!
