Not exactly Whitby, but you could do a lot worse than either of these 2 sites at Robin Hood's Bay
Middlewood farm or Hooks House Farm. Middlewood has any easy walk down over the fields into 'Bay itself, Hooks House is a bit more of a hike. There's a good regular bus service to Whitby which is a lot cheaper and less hassle than parking there, (and you can enjoy the myriad of public houses too).
Both sites have websites, a quick Google should bring them up
:ok

Just the other side of Whitby is Runswick Bay with a lovely camp site at the top. Also, in the Village at the top of Runswick Bay (Hinderwell) opposite the Badger Hounds Pub there is a really quiet site called Serenity. They advertise themselves as an adults only site but if you have well behaved kids they will probably take you. Pub used to do decent grub too (but don't go in the other pub - the Brown Cow - the locals are none too friendly after we beat them in the quiz! - many years ago, but they don't like strangers just in case!) :rofl

Wherever you go, have fun

We go to Ivy Farm. Got pools for the kids and at the top of the Overstrand cliffs.
Unfortunatly they're closing it after this season to concentrate on statics  :(
Heard good things about Manor Farm too.

Yeah, stayed at Ivy farm last year in a static, really nice. £75 per finally convinced me a camper was the best way to go. Overstarnd has a lovely beech and the pub isn't bad although the food was a bit poncey. Trying to get a little closer to Cromer or further west as we are going to Billinghay on our way to Whitby. However we will go there again if nothing else shows its face. Thanks.

woodhill park , Cromer end of East Runton, (where we hold the crabfest) excellent site, a little pricey maybe, but by far the best facillitys near cromer, and fantastic sea veiws, bus stop outside the gate (£1.20 each adult to either cromer or sherringham) and really nice folk....downside, its full of shed draggers with twitchy curtains, but isnt everwhere in norfolk?

as for whitby, York House caravan park, just south of Whitby, very good facilitys, on bus route, and cheap! or if you want better veiws, but less factiltys, Lound House Farm, sitting up above whitby, with a fantastic view of the town and bay...
